As you'll have noted, my blogging has, over the last few months, become less and less frequent. This is partly due to an increase in work but partly due to general lethargy when it comes to blogging - I've found it increasingly difficult to write ''good'' posts, find interesting things to post about and I've found, sadly, the blog annoying - something I was doing because I thought I should keep posting and not something that I was doing because I enjoyed it.
I've had some good posts , I feel, and hope that I've entertained a few of you along the way. So, as you'll have guessed, I'm going to be taking the Snob down over the next few days.
I intend, after a decent break, to return - returnofrs.blogspot.com or some such and I will contact my blogging chums when I do.
With very best wishes,
RS

Tremendously disappointing, sir. We shall repair to Whigham's Wine Cellar, and we will have words.
I don't know who you are, but I can understand. I no longer have any joy in blogging either, but my demise would be greatly appreciated ( unlike yours), hence I stay.
Have a break and come back or you may end up taking up knitting.
Best of British to you and let me know when you storm back.
It's been great having you with us, sir; for a while the great Scottish swearblogging triumvirate was invincible.
I should never have moved to London.
Anyway, best of luck and let me know when you're back. And you and I and Mr E shall repair to Whigham's (where I know one of the managers) for fine wines and passionfruit margheritas (I really recommend them).

Dear Mr Snob
Would be much obliged if you left your blog legacy intact. It is always entertaining to revisit some of your great pieces.
I mean I have linked to some of your wisdom and my blog will be mortally wounded if this catastrophic event were to eventuate.
Certainly sympathise with the burn out and the like. There are many fine bloggers, who have just stopped posting leaving their memorial in blogland.
Highly recommend that you do the same.
I will be representing to Mr Brown to have this legislated against. They seem to good at these kinds of dictates.
All the best.
Aye, I'll second that, o Snob; leave it intact.
Oh, and always remember the palpable hit that you scored with the Ban Darling campaign...

Come back and snob once more....
So there it is, RS - leave the blog intact, have a drop or two in Whighams and mull the matter over.
Thank you for your kind words all. As I say, I do intend to return.
I will keep the Snob up - so the archive is still there for those that wish to use it.
RS
Best of luck out there in the real world.
I sympathise - I have had the same feeling often, but then I lose my temper and have to blog about something.
Hope you'll come back. Refreshing to find someone who doesn't think the answer to life, the universe and everything is legislate, legislate, regulate.
What's more, you do have a duty. We all do. End of the snob is one small encouragement to the feckers who would rule us. They don't need any more encouragement. So please do return.
What a shame, RS. I found that whenever I declared that I was fed up with blogging, I very quickly found myself back soon enough. I hope the same happens with you.
Reactionary Snob.... I'm sorry to hear of this.... but, please do let me know when you return.
I've enjoyed your posts - in fact, I've had quite a few laughs with your acerbic and wry comments. Your use of anglo-saxon, sharp, always to the point has added to my enjoyment of life.
Bon chance
Charon QC
I look forward to your return sir. A good break is probably what is needed until the muse returns.
Oh bugger. I've loved reading your rants, no matter how infrequent they may be.
OK. Fuck off, then.
Why, thank you, Alex.
