Isn't this story rather depressing? Doesn't it say a lot about so many things? That we actually need to remind people not to take the administration of ''justice'' into their own hands...
I would have thought it was more a case of being upset at having been made fools of...
What does it say about you if you find that depressing, when I think that it is more the fact that children are born and raised by people such as this matthews woman which is depressing.
The whole bloody story is depressing. It shows that part of society has totally degenerated and the social pressures that would have stigmatised these people have all disappeared.
Of course the 'why did she do it?' bit is hard to fathom unless she hoped to make money from it.

True, and yet there are so many that feel let down by the justice system that it is perhaps inevitable they will look to other means.
Wasn't it Plato that said when the law fails to protect the people, the people have the right to take the law into their own hands.
The law no longer protects the citizenry, therefore we should not be surprised if people resort to vigilantism.
Unfortunate ad within the article.

Surely, Monoi, we can find both depressing for different reasons? As it happens, I do.

I misunderstood you it seems. I just think that in the vigilante's case, at least the matthews would get some come uppance !
I guess they have both a lot in common, mostly stupidity and ignorance. Not a pretty sight in 2008 Britain...
I meant "not a pretty sight of 2008 Britain"
